ที่ผนังระเบียงชั้นนอกของปราสาทนครวัดนั้นมีภาพสลักทั้งหมด 8 ภาพ โดยมี 2 ภาพที่สลักบนปีกเหนือของระเบียงด้านตะวันออก แสดงการรบพุ่งระหว่างพระนารายณ์และอสูร กับที่สลักอยู่บนปีกตะวันออกของระเบียงด้านเหนือแสดงรูปพระกฤษณะรบชนะพระเจ้ากรุงพาณ อาจสลักขึ้นหลังการก่อสร้างปราสาทนครวัด และหลังกว่าภาพสลักนูนต่ำอีก 6 ภาพ โดยทั้ง 2 ภาพมีศักราชจารึกอยู่ใต้ภาพระบุว่า ใน พ.ศ. 2089 พระราชาเขมรพระนามว่า นักองค์จันท์ได้เป็นผู้สั่งให้สลักภาพบนระเบียงชั้นนอกของปราสาทนครวัดให้แล้วสำเร็จ ซึ่งสำเร็จลงใน พ.ศ. 2106 และภาพสลักทั้ง 2 ภาพนี้ มีอิทธิพลของศิลปะจีนอยู่บ้าง แต่อิทธิพลส่วนใหญ่มาจากศิลปะไทย เพราะมีความคล้ายคลึงกันอย่างมากระหว่างรูปเทวดาบางองค์บนภาพสลักนี้กับรูปเทวดาในหนังสือตำนานเทวรูปในศาสนาพราหมณ์ของไทย รวมทั้งฆ้องวง เครื่องประดับ ลวดลายดอกไม้ภายในเครื่องประดับ เครื่องแต่งกายรูปกินรีแบบไทยและฉัตร ซึ่งทั้งหมดนี้มีอยู่ในศิลปะอยุธยาของไทยตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 1975.

For those who have visited the Bangkok National Museum, the art, or at least the sculpture, of ancient Champa is not completely unknown. And while this art, which is at times so admirable, yet often so perplexing, is not as well represented in the museum as Javanese art, the six sculptures in the collection which were presented to King Rama VII about seventy years ago, reveal certain tendencies which are the most striking and the most unvarying in Cham art. Dating from the 10th to 12th centuries, these six pieces are almost sufficient in showing how different, both in terms of aesthetics and popular themes, the schools of Cham art are from the rest of Southeast Asia.

Finally, there are inventories of the objects discovered in the excavations of Dvaravati sites conducted by the author; indexes; bibliography; etc.
